Ducati Project Motorcycle

Anodize it Red

Carbon fiber, titanium and premium aluminum alloys are the materials we are incorporating into our Ducati Monster project bike. For the final drive we found a red-anodized aluminum-alloy rear sprocket flange in the Ducati Performance Accessories catalog. Aluminum alloy is a blend that may also include copper, zinc, manganese, silicon, or magnesium. In general these type of alloys are much lighter and more corrosion resistant than steel, but not as corrosion resistant as pure aluminum.

Ducati LED Indicators

Upgrading your Ducati Monster's turn signals with light-emitting diode (LED) indicators provides more than meets the eye. Early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but if you have not noticed modern LEDs are available across the visible spectrum and with very high brightness. As well, modern LEDs have other benefits including; lower energy consumption, longer life, better shock resistance, smaller size and faster switching.

Billet Clutch Slave

Personalizing your Ducati motorcycle with billet components can improve durability, reduce weight, improve strength and increase performance. We found a nifty billet clutch slave cylinder in the Ducati Accessories catalog that looks great on any 2001 or later Ducati equipped with a dry clutch. We ordered the red one (also available in gold) for our 2009 Ducati Monster 1100 S project bike.

Chic Comfort

After a long two-up ride on our Monster, my passenger was complaining about seat comfort and I had to sympathize with her. Since we had luck with the clever two-piece tail bag we decided to have another look at what the latest Ducati Accessories catalog had to offer. We found the Ducati Monster (696 and 1100) Comfort Touring Seat.

Ducati Travel Bag

We seem to love all things Italian; Ferrari, food, fashion and of course our fanciful Ducati. So when it came time to look for more Monster upgrades, we could help not but surf the Ducati Monster Accessories catalog. We found an intimate selection of well-crafted bits that caught our attention including the ingenious two-piece tail bag.

Chain, Sprockets and Carrier Upgrade

Performance and quality components continue to be our main theme as we upgrade our Ducati Monster 1100S motorcycle project bike. Maximizing the power delivery from our air-cooled v-twin through to the final drive was our next task. Again, we surveyed the market to find proven bolt-on parts that would meet our objectives and inventively we again found a company with a storied motocross legacy; one with 142 World Titles and 111 US Titles.

Pro Performance Clutch Upgrade

Motorcycle racers have long known the benefits of running high-quality slipper clutches. Today, motorcycle manufactures have taken the "race on Sunday, sell on Monday" approach, and are installing slippers on many of the top performance bikes now found on your local showroom floor. However, some of these clutches are not fully adjustable and are made with lesser technology to keep the overall motorcycle MSRP as low as possible.

Ti & Carbon or Carbon & Ti Exhaust

Ducati and Harley motorcycle owners have at least one thing in common, they enjoy the distinctive sounds their v-twin engines broadcast and the superb torque they deliver. To maximize these simple pleasures, our first order of business on our 2009 Ducati Monster 1100 S project was to upgrade the exhaust system. We searched the market for a high-quality system that would provide reliable bolt-on performance and add to the bike's distinctive look.
