1190RR Preview

Just a few months after Harley-Davidson discontinued the Buell Motorcycles line, Erik Buell Racing has announced a tantalizing first new motorcycle: the 1190RR. Based on the Buell 1125R and Buell 1125RR (which was created to compete in Superbike last year), the 1190RR gets increased engine displacement to bring it closer to the current class limit for V-twins in both the AMA and World Superbike (WSBK).

London Jump Video

Robbie Knievel is headed to London to jump 16 double-decker buses on June 12, 2010. Back in 1975, in front of 90,000 people at London's Wembley Stadium, his father Evel Knievel crashed while trying to land a jump over thirteen single-decker Merlin buses.

After the crash, in which Evel broke his pelvis, Knievel addressed the audience and announced his retirement.          

The 69th annual Daytona Bike Week gets underway this week down in Florida. Hundreds of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world will descend on the scene. Over the years Daytona Bike Week has grown into a 10-day festival that extents through most of Volusia County.

There are hundreds of events for motorcycle enthusiasts to enjoy. It is not too late to join the party. Below is a schedule of the notable events and parties happening during the 2010 Daytona Bike Week.

AMA Champion

Danny Eslick, the inaugural and defending AMA Daytona Sportbike Championship, enters the 2010 season with the same team but with a much different motorcycle. Eslick has jumped from the going-extinct V-twin Buell 1125R to the inline-four Suzuki GSX-R600. Familiar with the Suzuki from past stints on the GSX-R, Eslick plans to defend his '09 title on a number of fronts.

Moto2 American

Twenty-nine year old American Kenny Noyes will race the Moto2 World Championship in 2010 for Antonio Banderas Racing. The new Moto2 class replaces the long-standing 250cc two-stroke series. All Moto2 bikes will use the same Honda 600cc four-cylinder engines and Dunlop tires. The Hollywood film star and life-long motorcycle-racing enthusiast will use Harris frames, Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes on the Antonio Banderas Racing Moto2 machines.

Electric Moto Racing

The eGrandPrix has two forms of clean emissions "electric" motor racing. These include both electric cars (EMXGP) and electric motorcycles (TTXGP). In the motorcycle venue, the world's first zero-carbon championship grows to 13 racing events for 2010.

Buell Motorcycle Deals

It is old news now that Harley-Davidson announced on October 15, 2009 that the Buell lineup of motorcycles would be discontinued effective December 18. Although Buell has stopped building new motorcycles, there were a number of 2010 motorcycles built. As well, dealers had a limited number of 2008 and 2009 Buell motorcycles left in stock.
