Since 1980, Edelweiss Bike Travel has been opening up the world to
motorcyclists. The know-how that the savvy staff has accumulated from hundreds
of successful tours makes it easier and more rewarding than ever to experience
foreign travel on two wheels.
The company’s latest addition is the Norway
Touring Center. The Touring Center offerings denote tours that base out of a hub
hotel, embarking each day on scenic loops that end up back at the point of
departure. Once you settle into your sea view room, you will not need to pack
or unpack again for eight days. By using the hotel as a base, participants can
choose which days they want to ride or relax, allowing for plenty of personal
time to explore and discover on their own. (Click image to enlarge)
The Norway tour is offered in June
and July, starting and finishing in Alesund, with comfortable daily outings of
100 to 300 miles. Highlights include touring the famous Geiranger Fjord, a
masterpiece of nature, considered the world’s most beautiful fjord with its deep
blue waters and majestic mountains, as well as exploring the bird island of
Runde and the Staircase of the Trolls. The price or the package ranges from
$2,430 to $4,015 per person.
As with all Edelweiss adventures, the tour will
be filled with side trips to historical landmarks and beautiful locations
familiar only to guides knowledgeable with the area. Edelweiss ties this unique
Nordic outing to plenty of riding on winding mountain passes and breathtaking
scenery with evenings of fine dining. www.edelweissbike.com
