What self-empowered
woman hasn’t looked on at Lucy Liu’s strong and beautiful characters in
"Charlie’s Angels" and "Kill Bill" without a sense of admiration and
identification? Dainese openly borrows from those personae for the Yu Lady
1-piece suit ($1,399) and RS-Yu Lady gloves ($99).
Pointedly designed for the track, the suit’s full-grain leather has a feminine
cut (both physically and graphically) in addition to composite protectors,
replaceable sliders and elastic in all the right places. The RS-Yu Lady extends
the theme to your fingertips with leather, elastic and a sure wrist strap.
Shoei’s RF-1000 Flutter helmet ($475) recognizes
our need to float like butterflies on the straights as we sting like queen bees
in the corners. Lightweight and fully vented (so we can keep our cool), with a
superb finish, the Flutter provides the ultimate in protection of both our heads
and femininity. (Click image to enlarge)
Elegant and fast, Sidi’s B2 Ladies boots ($220) give us the
security we appreciate at speed. A vertebra system protects our Achilles heels
and rear calves, the heel cup is fully encapsulated and the DuPont polymer toe
shift pad safeguards our manicured toes. And, of course, the styling on this
Italian footwear is impeccable.
