Hailwood jackets
12/01/2003

To some degree, what motorcyclist wouldn’t want to emulate the great Mike Hailwood, acclaimed by many as the best motorcycle racer of all time? Commemorating an extraordinary career that included nine World Championships in the 1960s—the first at age 21—and a comeback in 1978, Vanson Leathers is creating limited-edition Hailwood jackets, hand-made from competition quality leather with period-correct styling and authentic embroidered patches. The jacket is available in two styles and will be produced in limited numbers.  Only 500 each of the MH-01 (‘60s era) and MH-02 (1978) jackets will be custom-made with the owners name and the production number embroidered into the lining. A leather patch over the zippered breast pocket features Hailwood’s embossed signature. The purchase price includes a letter of authenticity from Pauline Hailwood and a limited-edition poster of “Mike The Bike” on the 250 Honda or F1 Ducati. (Click images to enlarge)
