Victory has been building sharply styled bikes for
almost a decade, but its Vision represents a radical new course for the
Minnesota-based manufacturer. Boasting silhouettes seemingly informed by
futurist sculpture, the Vision’s two variants feature faceted, arced haunches
and bold, sweeping lines that are anything but derivative. (Click image to enlarge)
Unlike
forward-looking touring bikes of the past that hide mechanical workings under
flush bodywork (the Honda Pacific Coast comes to mind), both the touring and
street versions of the Vision proudly display that definitively American
mechanical centerpiece—a massive V-twin engine. Originating from the Victory
Vision 800 concept, the production versions depart from the show bike’s stark
Blade Runner aspirations and embrace a more fanciful, dynamic form.
The
Touring model is configured for long distance, two-up riding, and features a
passenger backrest and nearly four cubic feet of storage, while the Street model
is better suited for solo journeys, offering half the Touring’s storage
capacity. Both models will offer available integrated premium audio and GPS,
adjustable rear suspension, and a lowest-in-class seat height of 26.5 inches,
ensuring real-world maneuverability in a package that otherwise appears to be
plucked from the future.
