Readers of this magazine will remember how Jesse Rooke’s Darla roared off the cover of our
September/October 2006 issue. His recent collaboration with Harley retail giant
Bruce Rossmeyer has given birth to the H-D Evolution-powered Scrambler. "I
wanted to build a really rideable bike like those ’70s-style flattrackers, with
a 21-inch front and rear tire," Rooke enthuses. "It’s a ‘Scrambler’ because,
like those ’70s bikes, you can even take it down a fire road." True to Jesse’s aesthetic, the Scrambler is a raw, minimalist
performance bike with the cool factor of a custom. Produced in a limited edition
of 100, the Scrambler wraps Rooke’s frame around the 80 cu in V-twin, juicing it
up with Rooke Design’s own front end, a Performance Machine kit and an FMF

Week 2007, four Scramblers were spoken for on the first day alone. The famed
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has now entered into a full
partnership with Jesse, and will sell the Scrambler onsite. "My shop is moving
to the Hard Rock," adds Rooke. "Now customers can fly in, visit the casino, and
then take delivery of their new bike." The payoff looks promising.
