Alfred Dunhill, purveyor of fine motoring accessories for the gentleman
driver since 1893, has now become a house known for its unique ability to
combine period elegance with contemporary innovation. The Wheel Watch timepiece
collection, with its automatic movement from the prestigious Swiss manufacturer
Dubois Dépraz, is certain to impress the most discerning motorcycle
enthusiast readying for an expansive road trip.

enthusiasts. (Click image to enlarge)
The limited edition
Petrolhead, supplied on a handmade leather strap with contrasting stitching in
red or yellow to coordinate with the details of the dial, has a 40-hour power
reserve monitored by a fuel gauge design which falls from full to empty when it
is time to refill. Weighing 90.6 gr, and measuring 42mm in diameter, the
mono-lug case shape recalls the metal spinners often used to secure wheels to
period sports cars, as well as Alfred Dunhill’s century-old Motorities
heritage. The polished, knurled stainless steel crown is concealed by an
engine-turned bezel to protect it from knocks, while the date aperture at six
o’clock doubles as a bonnet-mounted racing number for the sportscar design at
the bottom of the dial.
Water resistant to 30m, this 21-jewel timepiece is
testament to the motoring inspiration of Alfred Dunhill and his invaluable
contri-butions. Trimmed in yellow, the Petrolhead is limited to an edition of
1,500; trimmed in red, only 1,000 will be produced.
