The Shave of Beverly Hills is just the kind of establishment where 50
years ago you might have found yourself sitting next to Frank Sinatra himself,
taking in the pleasure of a well-aged whisky on the rocks, an old-school
seven-towel shave, and the prospect of a steakhouse lunch afterward. Former
sports-industry executive Bill Sanders and partner Adam Dishell created the
men’s only barbershop and boutique on the premise that patrons who have grown
tired of unisex salons and flowery grooming experiences would celebrate the idea
of a place where a man can be a man and the straight razor is king.
The Shave of Beverly Hills offers members use of
the Icon Room, where they can enjoy the barbershop’s Signature Shave in
private. (Click image to enlarge)
Annual memberships include priority appointments and the
barbershop’s full menu of grooming services—everything from skin-care treatments
to in-chair massages, and eyebrow waxing to a good old-fashioned shoe shine can
be had, along with a haircut from Mr. Mogi, a world-champion master cutter. And,
for guests shy of being seen while in the process of looking their best, the
shop offers a secluded private area, complete with your own vintage leatherback
barber chair.
Once you’ve indulged in the best grooming experience of your
life, their attentive staff will assist you in selecting a number of high-end
shave creams and other products from Taylor of Old Bond Street, Geo. F. Trumper,
D. R. Harris, and more. Or, you can simply set your appointment for the
following morning to relive the experience.
