With custom-painted helmets
carrying price tags as high as $1,000, it seems absurd to place them in $10
cloth sacks. Lee Parks Design (800.943.5638, www.leeparksdesign.com) has
addressed this dilemma by creating custom-made protective helmet bags that are
worthy of their contents. The $275 bags are constructed of top-grade deerskin,
making them strong yet buttery soft, and the entire lining, including a special
pocket for holding an extra shield, is made of a soft microfiber fabric that
will not scratch even the most delicate paint. Each bag also includes an
additional internal pocket for earplugs and a zippered outer pocket for gloves
or other accessories. The bags are available in a variety of colors, and riders’
names or initials can be embroidered on the leather. Thanks to a unique tanning
